What does ScaleWise Education teach?

ScaleWise Education teaches people about reptiles and other native wildlife, with a focus on conservation, preservation, responsible animal care, and safe handling. Programs can cover topics such as native species, reptile behavior, habitats, ecosystems, animal care, and common misconceptions about reptiles.

Who can attend?

Our programs are available for children, families, schools, community groups, and adults. Programs can be adjusted to fit different ages and experience levels.

Do you bring live animals?

Yes. Live reptiles are included in each presentation. The animals displayed are subject to appropriate safety requirements and the needs of the animals.

Are animals handled?

Some programs may include supervised animal handling. Handling is never required, and the animal's safety and comfort always come first. Participants will be taught how to interact with animals safely and respectfully.

How long are programs?

Each of our three educational presentations lasts approximately 60 minutes.

How much do programs cost?

Pricing is per presentation and depends on the organization booking, not the program chosen: public schools and homeschool groups pay $125; libraries and nonprofit organizations pay $150; community organizations and private groups pay $175; and corporate events and private bookings pay $200. What areas do you serve?

We proudly serve Mohave County, Arizona. As ScaleWise Education grows, additional service areas may become available.

Can you visit schools?

Yes! ScaleWise Education can provide educational programs for schools and student groups. Programs can be adapted to fit the age group, classroom setting, and educational goals of the school.

Can you visit libraries or events?

Yes! We can provide educational presentations for libraries, community events, organizations, and other public or private gatherings. Contact us with information about your event so we can discuss available program options.

Do you teach adults?

Absolutely. Reptile education is for everyone! Adult programs can cover native wildlife, conservation, responsible reptile ownership, animal care, handling, and other topics based on the group's interests.

Safety Questions

Animal and participant safety are always a priority at ScaleWise Education. Programs follow appropriate safety and animal-handling practices, and animals are never handled when doing so would create an unnecessary risk.
